We are excited to announce that Velotic's ThingWorx Industrial Intelligence Platform has partnered with Leela AI to deliver advanced Vision AI solutions that empower manufacturers to boost productivity, enhance worker safety, and reduce waste.
Leela AI’s advanced vision technology turns standard cameras into intelligent sensors. In the joint deployment, Leela records and measures manual and robotic activities from video such as cycle time, station occupation, and value-added time. It then seamlessly delivers the time-stamped analytics via MQTT for integration to the ThingWorx platform. The combination of visual and machine-sensor analytics offers a more complete picture of plant floor activity to improve productivity and worker safety.
Computer Vision AI is reshaping how factories operate. Leela AI turns everyday cameras into powerful, software-defined sensors that continuously capture and analyze activity across the production floor. This creates a high-quality stream of data that was previously invisible, giving manufacturers the insight needed to improve productivity, enhance safety, and reduce waste.
Leela AI empowers manufacturers to:
- Link work time to every unit—Capture the cycle time for each serial number or SKU, giving managers accurate task duration ranges to improve planning and pinpoint processes that need refinement
- Streamline operations—Analyze how work is performed to eliminate wasted steps, shorten cycle times, and improve throughput
- Monitor assembly flow—Detect pileups, misalignments, and bottlenecks as they develop to keep production moving
- Optimize staffing—Balance labor across lines and shifts to reduce overtime and increase efficiency
- Enhance safety—Identify missing or incorrect PPE, unsafe behaviors, and ergonomic risks to prevent injuries
One of Velotic and Leela AI’s joint customers, a leading US-based water technology manufacturer, is leveraging Leela AI’s vision technology to monitor plant floor activities. The data seamlessly integrates into Velotic's ThingWorx Digital Performance Management (DPM) application, enabling real-time analysis and driving continuous improvement initiatives. With the robust capabilities of the ThingWorx platform, users can efficiently enrich and transform data to support visualization, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, AI-driven insights, and a wide range of IoT use cases.
Brandon Kennedy, Digital Practice Lead at Brock Solutions, the implementation partner that supported the customer in developing the end-to-end solution using ThingWorx DPM, Kepware, and Leela AI, stated: “Leela AI was highly flexible in taking on complex contextualization and calculations, allowing us to define and implement a clean integration standard for ThingWorx Digital Performance Management. Their technology opens the door for data visibility into machine and process data that would otherwise present a significant challenge and cost to capture through traditional PLC's/sensors.”
““Leela AI’s technology simplifies the collection of timestamped plant floor data, making it seamless to integrate with the ThingWorx platform for advanced analytics and operational improvements” said Chris Baldwin, General Manager, IoT at Velotic.
“Our partnership with Velotic marks a significant step toward redefining manufacturing efficiency and safety,” said Cyrus Shaoul, CEO of Leela AI. “By combining our Vision AI capabilities with ThingWorx’s robust analytics, we’re empowering manufacturers to achieve their goals with real-time, actionable insights.”
